The Waterway 400-9974B Fitting Package is a dedicated plumbing connection kit designed specifically for
Waterway inground cartridge pool filters, including Crystal Water–style cartridge filter housings.
This kit provides the correct union fittings and seals required to properly connect the filter’s inlet and outlet
ports to standard pool plumbing.
What These Parts Are For
This fitting package is used only at the cartridge filter tank. The components in this kit allow water
to flow from the pump into the cartridge filter and then out of the filter toward the heater,
chlorinator, and pool returns, while also allowing the filter to be disconnected for service without cutting pipe.
Included Components and Their Purpose

Union Nuts:
Thread directly onto the cartridge filter’s inlet and outlet ports to secure the plumbing connections.

Union Tailpieces:
Glue into the pool plumbing and mate with the union nuts so the filter can be easily removed for cartridge cleaning
or replacement.

Union O-Rings:
Create a watertight seal between the union halves and the filter body to prevent leaks under pressure.

2½" to 2" Reducers:
Allow the filter’s larger 2½" ports to be connected to standard 2" PVC pool plumbing.

Installation Notes
