Description
This ladder guard kit from Polaris consists of two durable plastic panels and mounting hardware designed to attach to ladder legs in in-ground pools. The guard prevents automatic pool cleaners, especially pressure-side units, from becoming trapped or stuck around ladder posts during operation.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Fits standard in-ground pool ladders with legs up to approximately 1.9 in diameter.
- Ideal for use with Polaris pressure-side cleaners such as models 180, 280 and 380, and other cleaner brands that may snag on ladder hardware.
- Designed to mount under water on ladder legs to form a barrier between cleaner hose/foot and ladder post.

Installation Notes
Turn off the pool pump and ensure the cleaner is out of the pool. Position the ladder guard panels on each side of the ladder leg at the recommended height where the cleaner hose rotates past the leg. Secure the panels with the provided hardware, check for wobble, and then restart the cleaner to verify that it no longer contacts the ladder leg. Adjust position if the cleaner still catches.
Maintenance Tip
Inspect the ladder guard annually along with your pool cleaner hose and ladder assembly. Tighten any loose fasteners, check the guard panels for cracks or wear, and ensure they remain properly positioned relative to the cleaner hose travel path. Reinstall or replace the kit if damage or misalignment is observed.
