Description
Replacement upper half shell for the Pentair/Sta-Rite System 2 modular media cartridge filters and modular DE filters. This tank half includes mounting for the air-relief valve and factory decals, providing correct fit for many PLM and PLD filter installations manufactured from 2009 onward.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Fits PLM series filters PLM100, PLM125, PLM150, PLM175, PLM200 (System 2 Modular Media) and compatible PLD/PLDE modular DE filters.
- Intended for filter systems where the original upper shell is cracked, damaged, leaking, or when undertaking a rebuild of the tank body.
- Note: Does not include lower tank half or internal cartridge modules—those may need to be replaced separately.

Installation Notes
Shut off pump and relieve system pressure before servicing. Remove the old upper tank half by undoing lock-ring or bolt connections. Inspect the lower half for damage and clean debris from the sealing surfaces. Install the new 27001-0020S upper shell, align the air relief port, apply appropriate sealant or O-ring per manufacturer instructions, torque the lock-ring evenly, and restore circulation. After installation monitor for leaks and ensure stable pressure.
Maintenance Tip
During seasonal filter service or when cleanings become less effective, inspect the tank shell for stress cracks, discoloration, or bolt fatigue. Replacing the upper half early can prevent complete tank failure, reduce downtime and maintain safe filtration performance.
