Applications & Compatibility
This wet end assembly fits Gecko/Aqua-Flo Flo-Master XP2 and XP2E pump models and is suitable for systems originally built with a 2.5 HP 48-frame motor and 2″ ports. It enables upgrading or restoring pump performance by replacing the hydraulic section while retaining the motor and base plumbing.
Installation Instructions
- Shut off electrical power to the pump and isolate water plumbing.
- Drain the pump housing, remove the existing wet end components from the motor base.
- Clean the motor shaft sleeve and shaft journal, remove old shaft seal and inspect for wear.
- Install the new wet end assembly: mount volute, install wear ring, set impeller to correct depth, attach suction cover and hardware, install O-rings and tighten screws evenly.
- Realign plumbing unions or connectors, refill system, restore circulation and verify no leaks and correct flow rating.
Troubleshooting
-
Pump loses prime: Check impeller depth, verify suction cover o-ring seal and ensure no air ingress at pump lid.
-
Low flow or motor over-current: Confirm impeller size, wear ring gap, and correct motor matching for 2.5 HP load.
-
Leaks at discharge flange: Inspect volute mounting bolts, check gasket and ensure drain plug is tight.
Maintenance Tip
Check and clean the impeller and suction cover when servicing the pump. Inspect the wear ring clearance annually and replace if wear becomes excessive. Replacing the wet end with the 91041825-000 kit can extend the life of your pump and avoid full pump replacement.
